Last September I was driving across the United States, and I passed a small town in the southern part of Colorado. I was amazed at one thing in particular. I was in one of  the most landlocked places in the North America yet there were boats just sitting in people’s yards. It was the strangest and saddest thing to see that most of the rusted old boats will never have the chance to see the ocean, battle a storm, wade through the water.

Follow me for a second. The issues of the world are like this boat.

Someone could recognize a problem like hunger and say, “I’m going to feed people.” And figuratively they start to repair this problem [or boat] and then step back and wonder in awe at what they have accomplished. One problem remains – it’s still there. A few months from now because of the lack of movement and use, the unused boat will revert to the same state that it was in before.

We are solving problems one dimensional.

“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” – 1 Corinthians 1:25

There is a beautiful revealing when a man realizes where his hope comes from.

When we recognize surrendering life’s issues to God and being inspired to action is the solution, an unstoppable traction begins. The boat is fixed, it is hooked up to a truck and driven the 1,500 miles to bring it to water. It is finally given purpose and it can now explore, create, inspire, provide, give courage, joy, and true fulfillment.

God is making all things new.
